Self Care and Why it Matters

When you serve the public as a healer or psychic taking care of yourself is tantamount in importance.

Even if you are not a service provider, self love as self nurturance and self care is part of the picture if not the main attraction. I am not talking about the egoic self love but the self love that does not call attention to itself or put itself above others; also in the realm of self care is being able to say no and taking time out.

This has been a steep learning curve for me as I went into the life so quickly; all the different forms of self care I learned through experience and from the people I see on a daily basis, as a result of what I have learned from other’s mistakes. I am surprised every year at the amount of “reiki masters” or energy healers of some other type of modality who come to me for healing or who become so gravely ill they are beyond the scope of energy healing helping them; energy healing tends to work best when sickness is still in the energy field of the individual and has not yet manifested as disease which is sticking to ones bones. This has put me against reiki. The healing I do for example is completely self-taught as that is how I was instructed to learn by my teachers and my own spiritual guides.

My guidance has instructed me repeatedly that Creator/God/Universal Mind; chooses who to bestow gifts upon, we do not choose this life and to pursue gifts can cause great imbalance in the soul if one is not fit for it. Even myself working as an energy healer was not something I chose, it chose me. I had been working as a clairvoyant for seven years before dreams, illness and certain guides and messages pushed me literally toward working with the energy. I was dragged kicking and screaming to the work. Now I love it because of all that I see and experience, the profound messages and information from the spirits is fascinating and that is how they got me in the end. I love to learn and I have a curious mind.

If you are one of the chosen to carry this burden of healing others, resting and having a hobby is important for self care, a lot of time in nature always restores me. Find your little corner of happiness, laughter and having fun is always a great way to regenerate your spirit. Find what works for you!
